Tarraco (Pre-Order)
This is a pre-order item. Orders close Friday. Delivery the following week.
The Tarraco is the mildest and most traditionally “orange-like” of the blood orange family. Originating in Spain, it’s known for its classic orange exterior and a lighter interior that ranges from bright orange to soft coral, often with subtle red flecks or streaks, especially near the edges of the segments.
Compared to Moro and Sanguinelli, Tarraco’s flavor is sweet, clean, and familiar, with only gentle berry notes. It delivers the visual interest of a blood orange without the deep, wine-like intensity, making it a great bridge between standard navels and darker blood varieties.
Best uses:
-
Fresh eating
-
Juicing for a lightly blushed color
-
Citrus salads and fruit plates
-
Baking and desserts where sweetness is preferred over intensity
Tarraco ripens later in the blood orange season and is prized for its consistency, approachable flavor, and broad appeal.
